TAVISTOCK’S 2009 FOOD FESTIVAL MOVES TO ITS HISTORIC PORT
10.03.2009
The organisers of Tavistock Food Festival have taken a radically new approach to organising this year’s Festival.
The Festival will be held on the historic Morwellham Quay, the ancient Port of Tavistock, on Saturday and Sunday September 12th and 13th 2009. As always the exhibitor venue will be held under an all weather marquee to ensure that whatever the weather both visitors and exhibitors remain dry.
In making this announcement Jeffrey Stackhouse, Festival Chairman, said “Our 2009 Festival is being organised recognising the difficult economic conditions that both visitors and exhibitors are experiencing, and we are delighted to have established an excellent relationship with Morwellham Quay. There are mutual benefits to both the Festival and Morwellham, such as ample car parking within close proximity of the Festival marquee and access for Festival visitors to the historic buildings and facilities at Morwellham Quay including the refreshment available at the Ship Inn. Importantly the road access to Morwellham is easy and well signposted from whatever direction you approach Tavistock”.
“This year’s Festival will concentrate on regional craft food producers. We shall be offering the very best of regional food products such as cheese, meats, preserves, dairy and ice cream, beer, wine, fish, pates etc. This year’s admission charge will only be £2 per adult, accompanied children under16 free of charge and unaccompanied children will pay £2. Any local or regional food producer interested in exhibiting should contact the organisers at 07770 223 932 or by email jstackhous@aol.com”
“We hope that visitors will take full advantage of all the attractions on offer at both the Food Festival and Morwellham Quay and have a great day out”.
