FREE SHUTTLE BUS TO BUCKLAND ABBEY FOR MAY FESTIVAL

In early May (1st & 2nd) Tavistock Festivals are holding a food and drink Festival in the stunning surroundings of the National Trust’s Buckland Abbey which was originally a Cistercian Abbey founded in 1278 by Amicia, Countess of Devon and remained an abbey until the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII. Subsequently it became the home of Devon’s most famous son, Sir Francis Drake.

The festival will showcase over 28 regional food and drink producers many of whom have won regional awards for the consistency and quality of their products.

Tavistock Festivals are anxious to distance themselves from a recent event at Buckland Abbey as explained by the Festival’s Chairman, Jeffrey Stackhouse.
